Sign Up Process
Getting started with Sniffer begins with creating your account. Visit the Sniffer website here: https://sniffer.dev and click the “Sign Up for Free” button from the homepage to begin the registration process. You can also sign up directly in the portal following this link: https://snifferweb.com/
You can create an account using one of the following methods:
Email Registration: Enter your email address and create a secure password. Your password should be:
- At least 8 characters long
- Include a combination of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters.
After selecting your registration method, you will be prompted to enter basic information:
- Your first name and last name
- Company or organization name.
- Email Address
- A password with at least 8 characters long Including a combination of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters. This information helps personalize your Sniffer experience and is displayed to team members when you collaborate on projects.
Email Verification
After completing the registration form, Sniffer sends a verification email to the address you provided. This step confirms that you have access to the email account and helps protect your Sniffer account from unauthorized access.
- Open the verification email and enter the unique code to verify your account.
- The code expires after 24 hours, so complete this step promptly. If you don’t see the email in your inbox, check your spam or junk folder.
- If the verification email doesn’t arrive within a few minutes, you can request a new one from the login page.
- Click “Resend verification email” and a fresh code will be sent to your registered email address.
Once your email is verified, your account is fully activated and you can log in to begin using Sniffer.
Initial Account Setup
Upon your first login, Sniffer guides you through an initial setup process to configure your account and prepare for your first project.
- Profile Configuration: Complete your user profile by adding a profile picture and verifying your display name. Your profile picture appears in comments, task assignments, and activity feeds, helping team members identify you quickly.
- Notification Preferences: Configure how and when you want to receive notifications. You can choose to receive email notifications for new bugs, task assignments, comments, and status changes. You can also enable browser notifications for real-time alerts when working in Sniffer.
- Time Zone Settings: Set your local time zone to ensure that timestamps on bugs, comments, and activity logs display correctly for your location.
- Company Profile: If you are the first person from your organization to sign up, you may be prompted to enter company details such as your company name, website URL, and industry. This information helps customize your Sniffer experience and is used for billing purposes.
- Onboarding Tutorial: Sniffer offers an optional interactive tutorial that walks you through the key features of the platform. This tutorial covers creating projects, installing Sniffer on your website, submitting your first bug, and managing tasks. Even experienced users may find value in reviewing the tutorial to discover features they might otherwise overlook.
After completing the initial setup, you are ready to create your first project and begin collecting visual feedback on your websites.
